I originally came to FP in early 2021 for a bad shoulder injury that was persistent despite the numerous visits to different physios. As a cricketer this took a severe toll on my ability to play cricket and bowl. Epic changes here from my client Courtney had a 55deg curve T6-T11 before having spinal fusion in 2002 via right thoracotomy, bringing the curve back to 7deg. A second curve developed in 2018 from T5 - L2 40deg which we can see has shown some change. With a steel rod in her t-spine we are obviously limited in how much we can change her spine, nevertheless her quality of life is improving as we move her structure closer to neutral.

In short, yes. Injuries are one of the most common factors that drive poor biomechanics as our body seeks to compensate around the injury in order to minimise pain and inflammation. This is all well and good whilst we heal but long after the injury has healed the biomechanical compensations remain.

Assessment: 90 minute initial consultation. Here we will analyse your posture and gait (walking/running). This gives us insight into the mechanical issues and asymmetries in your body that are causing the problems you are dealing with. From there we can map out a plan.

Posture and Gait correction: Follow up sessions where we work to problem solve and rebuild your posture and gait, this is the key to not only getting out of pain, but staying out of pain long term.
